Everyone wants more versatility and choice in their life. Air New Zealand knows one size doesn’t fit all, so the refreshed Seats to Suit short-haul fares between Australia and New Zealand and Australia to the Pacific Islands gives customers greater flexibility and choice.
They’ve also simplified how customers can fly in economy, making it easy for clients to select what they do – and don’t want included in their fares.
In addition, Air New Zealand has streamlined how you can book fares which are now available for sale in your GDS.
Customers can now choose from three Seats to Suit economy products: seat, theworks and worksflexi. They have introduced affordable flexibility for your customers, which is available on all works fares regardless of the booking class.
Meanwhile, Premium Economy and Business PremierTM customers will also benefit from greater flexibility when they fly Air New Zealand with the introduction of premiumflexi and businessflexi.
What’s changed and what’s stayed the same?
From 11 June 2024, Air New Zealand will not offer seat+bag fares in its short-haul Seat to Suit offering. Instead, the new default in your GDS is now the full-service theworks product.
The new-look network will include:
- seat
- theworks
- worksflexi
- premiumeconomy
- premiumflexi
- businesspremier
- businessflexi
Choose seat if you’ve got a customer heading off on a quick trip or if they like to travel light.
With seat, customers get a carry-on bag allowance of up to 7kg and complimentary tea, coffee or water. Plus they’ll enjoy full gate-to-gate entertainment. However, with the snack now included, there will no longer be the option to buy food on board. On a seat fare, you can add the first checked bag at 1x 23kg for AUD$30 via an EMD through your GDS.
The full-service theworks fare remains unchanged and will provide your clients with the best value seat in the sky: 1x 23kg checked bag, 1 x7kg carry-on plus a full meal and beverage service, entertainment and standard seat selection.
Premium passengers flying in Premium Economy and Business Premier™ will still enjoy the same great inclusions.
Along with gate-to-gate entertainment, all Air New Zealand passengers can connect to free inflight Wi-Fi on all Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft.
Customers can choose and mix different Economy fare types on every stage of their journey. For example, if they are heading away for a weekend shopping, they may want to choose to fly there with the seat option (carry-on baggage only) and fly home with the full-service theworks option.
Worth noting you can’t mix flexi and non-flexi fares for different people on the same sector and the same booking.
Flexi by name, flexi by nature
You’ve probably noticed there’s a lot of new fares with ‘flexi’ in the name – and it’s definitely by design.
The new ‘flexi’ fare structure kicks things up a notch, regardless of booking class.
For an additional AUD$60 for Works customers flying to New Zealand ($90 to Pacific Islands), $80 for Premium Economy to NZ ($120 to Pacific Islands) or $120 to NZ ($185 to Pacific Islands) for Business Premier passengers, your clients enjoy enhanced flexibility to make fee-free changes or receive a full refund for cancellations.
Note: Any additional fare or tax differences may apply.
Effective from 11 June 2024 for all new Air New Zealand bookings. For existing bookings, clients on seat+bag tickets can upgrade to theworks, or you can issue a historical fare if they wish to remain on the seat+bag option.
