In today’s fast-paced world, finding balance is a necessity, not a nice to have – especially on holiday! While the big cities may draw your clients to Europe, a great itinerary balances bustling crowds and jam-packed landmarks with peace, rest, and Europe’s best scenery. Cue Innsbruck, Austria’s most friendly, cosy, and INNer sanctum-y destination!

As the capital of the Alps, Innsbruck ensures your clients have access to everything at their fingertips. Countless attractions to excite, engage, and educate. Incredible dining options, from street eats to fine dining fare. And nature’s playground is right on their doorstep, thanks to the Nordkette mountain peaks that frame the city.

That best-of-everything lifestyle seems to make the Innsbruck locals extra warm and inviting, so every visitor can experience the gems of this incredible urban-alpine destination.

The star of the Innsbruck scene is the Nordkette mountain range. There’s something about seeing drop-dead-gorgeous mountain views from every vantage point – no matter the season – that calms the soul tenfold.

With four stunning Nordkette peaks, the city’s natural skyscrapers make for enjoyable outdoor escapades. Like hiking, biking, rock climbing, and a raft of winter sports activities.

We love that the Nordkette Cable Car connects the Old Town to the mountains in just 20 minutes! That means in less time than it takes to complete 64ordle, your clients can be at the start of another Innsbruck epic adventure!

Epic adventures like skiing or snowboarding! Innsbruck has a whopping 13 ski resorts with guaranteed groomed resorts, from October to May. This includes Stubai Glacier, Austria’s biggest glacier area, Kühtai, the country’s highest ski village, and the Olympic resorts of Axamer Lizum and Patscherkofel. Wow.

For your adventurous clients, they’ll love the Ski plus City pass. This world-first initiative gives them access to winter sports, culture, shopping, and sightseeing. All on one very handy Tyrolean ticket!

With 340 kilometres of runs and pistes, 111 cable cars and ski lifts, three swimming pools, and 22 city-based activities, there are ample opportunities to seek everything that brings joy. All with that snow guarantee!

As two-time hosts of the Winter Olympics, it’s no surprise that Innsbruck has a monument to commemorate those achievements. The Bergisel Olympic Ski Jump Tower stands proudly at the Bergisel Stadium.

It’s not only the mountain vistas (and adventure opportunities) that rank Innsbruck as a world-class destination; the fabulous Old Town does that, too.

The stunning Baroque and Gothic architecture charms visitors, offering a sense of fairytale magic as the buildings reveal their quaint shops, delicious restaurants, and local specialities. Like the hearty, tasty bacon, onion, and potato Tiroler Gröstl (find out more about Austria’s best treats here).

The 2,500+ fire-gilt copper tiles adorning the city’s most iconic landmark is an Innsbruck must-do. The Golden Roof reflects (literally) the height of Emperor Maximilian I’s reign when he made Innsbruck the imperial capital.

The two Habsburg monarch buildings are top Innsbruck’s Old Town attractions. The 15th-century Hofburg Imperial Palace allows a glimpse into the lavish lifestyles and extraordinary wealth of the former Habsburg Dynasty. Visitors enjoy exploring the imperial apartments where Empress Sisi used to stay.

The Hofkirche Court Church, also known as Schwarzmanderkirche, which translates to ‘Black Men Church’, is also fascinating, thanks to the 28 life-sized bronze figures that stand guard over Emperor Maximilian I’s tomb.

The imposing Ambras Castle is also worth a visit. The free-range peacocks add even more serenity to the lush gardens and waterfalls.

As it’s an urban haven as much as a nature-focused one, there are hip city districts to explore, too. Like bustling Mariahilf, home to on-trend boutiques and lifestyle stores, as well as fabulous dining options. Side note: for your gourmand clients, book them on the delectable Innsbruck Food Tour!

The postcard-perfect district of St Nikolaus is an idyllic spot to sip an Almdudler, a Jagertee (black tea with rum) or enjoy a tasty meal after a fun day exploring Innsbruck.

A visit to the Swarovski Crystal Worlds adds sparkle to any itinerary. The part art museum, part crystal shop, part gourmet haven opened in 1995 to celebrate 100 years of Swarovski. Austrian multimedia artist André Heller created a dazzling world of crystal: 17 Chambers of Wonders, designed by such artists as Brian Eno, Andy Warhol and Salvador Dalí, can be found inside the ‘Giant’. Round off your visit with some shopping at the largest Swarovski flagship store and a meal at the restaurant Daniels Kristallwelten.
