Be in it to win it: NTIA22 Award nominations are now open

Nominations for the 2022 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) opened on Tuesday 5 July with both video and written submissions accepted.

Nominations for the 2022 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) opened on Tuesday 5 July with both video and written submissions accepted.

The highly anticipated return of NTIA will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney on 15th October with Singapore Airlines as the major sponsor.

AFTA says that in recognition of the current workload and the craziness of the past year, AFTA has modified the nomination process to allow for video as well as written submissions.

To accommodate the widespread desire to celebrate being face to face at the event, the number of awards for 2022 has also been reduced by a third.

The Most Popular Categories will see a list of suppliers collated following nominations which the industry then votes on. The top 5 in each category will proceed as Finalists.

Nominations for the Most Outstanding (judged) categories will be shortlisted by an Independent Reviewer.

Speaking about the event, AFTA CEO Dean Long said, “NTIA 2022 is going to be a little different from our traditional NTIA celebrations in recognition of the very different circumstances we are all in.

“It’s our time to get together in the same room and celebrate the fact that we are still standing and we are more determined than ever to elevate the role of Travel Professionals and those who support us.”

“In a sure sign that life is returning to normal, the calls to the AFTA office about when nominations will open have been off the chart so we are thrilled to finally release the details.”
