Last Friday, Trafalgar MD, Jason Wolff travelled to Tasmania to meet and host 20 loyal Trafalgar guests who met on a Trafalgar trip through Britain exactly 10 years ago.
The guests, from all over Australia formed a lifelong friendship with their fellow trip guests and started a tradition to reunite annually in a different place across Australia and New Zealand, everyone in the group taking a turn at hosting.
How amazing is that?

When Trafalgar got wind of this wonderfully touching story and that this year marked the 10th anniversary of their meeting, Jason and his team decided to set up a very special ‘Be My Guest’ experience that Trafalgar is synonymous for, at the Shene Estate & Distillery in Pontville.
The reunion
The owner David and his daughter Myfanwy Kernke were there to treat guests to a tour of the estate, a tasting of their famed Single Malt Whisky and Poltergeist Gin as well as beautiful lunch from local produce.
The group were also regaled with stories of life as a local and the property’s rich history that was built by convicts and had direct links with King George III, Governor Lachlan Macquarie, and World Heritage Sites.

Jason went on to say, “This wonderful bunch of people were making speeches and reminiscing on the holiday that they had with us a decade ago. That’s the beauty of our trips – the real connections formed by experiencing these pinch-me moments together in these incredible destinations, not only with the locals but with the like-minded travellers that you meet, which results in lifelong friendships. It was really heart-warming to see that this tradition came together off the back of one of our trips all those years ago.”
Life is meant for good friends and great adventures; and when these two things come together, it creates the most beautiful story.
