Australia’s newest airline Bonza has just launched a dedicated travel agent portal, welcoming advisors and trade partners to register online as the fledgling company gears up to start selling its first flights.

Travel advisors will be the only non-direct means of booking with Bonza as the airline rolls out an ‘app-first’ approach.

Advisors will be asked to enter their details on the registration page and activate an account via a confirmation email. Once logged in, advisors can view Bonza’s FAQs, T&Cs and privacy policy.

Travel advisors will be required to ensure their clients have downloaded the Fly Bonza app to their mobile phones to enjoy the full Bonza experience, including check-in and ordering food and drinks from the app when travelling.

Bonza will also require trade partners to share their customer contact details with the airline to communicate if travel plans change, such as weather delays.

It’s an exciting day for the Sunshine Coast-based low-cost carrier and the culmination of months of preparation, including the delivery of its first aircraft in early August, nicknamed ‘Shazza’.

“This is a really exciting day for Bonza as we invite travel agents to register with us. The importance and value of local travel agents shouldn’t be understated, especially in recent times. After all, agents are often the heartbeat of a community,” Bonza Chief Commercial Officer Carly Povey said.

“We fully understand some customers will prefer to book through a friendly and trusted face at a local travel agency and we want to support the travel trade community by investing in this portal.”

The independent low-cost carrier launches with an initial 27 routes to 17 destinations with 93 per cent of these routes not served by an airline and 96 per cent not currently served by a low-cost carrier.
