New plane, who ‘dis? Meet Bonza’s new aircraft Shazza

Sunshine Coast-based low-cost carrier Bonza has shared the true-blue Aussie nickname for its first brand-new aircraft – Shazza – as the Boeing 737-MAX airline and the fledgling aviation company get set to take to the skies.

Sunshine Coast-based low-cost carrier Bonza has shared the true-blue Aussie nickname for its first brand-new aircraft – Shazza – as the Boeing 737-MAX airline and the fledgling aviation company get set to take to the skies.

Sourced from hundreds of suggestions and voted on by the Bonza Local Local Legends aka the airline’s ambassadors, COO Carly Povey said ‘Shazza’ was the most popular moniker with ‘Bazza’ as the runner-up nickname.

“Our Bonza Local Legends are the eyes and ears of Bonza in the communities where we’ll fly to and Shazza was their clear favourite,” Ms Povey said.

The Boeing 737-MAX aircraft, which touched down at Sunshine Coast Airport on 1 August, is currently having her interiors ‘Bonza-ified’, including obligatory splashes of purple as per the company colours seen across everything from uniforms to aircraft livery.

The newly named ‘Shazza’ landed at Sunshine Coast Airport earlier this month.

The airline is also progressing with in-flight and cabin crew training schools, finalising its all-Aussie menu and stress testing the Fly Bonza app, which will be the only place other than through local travel advisors where customers can book flights.

Preparations are also underway to welcome Bonza’s second aircraft soon.

“We’re encouraging Aussies to keep an eye in the sky for what could be Shazza’s mate Bazza flying to Australia soon,” Ms Povey said.
