In the five-week webinar series, advisors can learn the latest on the ATAS Charter and Code, which was approved by the AFTA Board after a five-month independent review, which happens every three years to ensure its relevancy for users and consumers.

The first webinar was held on Tuesday 23 August and upcoming sessions include:

  • Tuesday 30 August at 2pm AEST: Insurance – Public Liability and Professional Indemnity
  • Thursday 8 September at 2pm AEST: Financial Assessments – Requirements and Changes
  • Tuesday 13 September at 2pm AEST: Code of Conduct and Complaint Management
  • Thursday 22 September at 2pm AEST: Terms and Conditions

AFTA CEO Dean Long said: “With the independent review of the ATAS Charter now complete and the AFTA Board having the chance to consider and approve changes to the ATAS Charter and Code, AFTA is pleased to start a five-week webinar series to cover the changes, the obligations of members and best practice as well as the related issues the industry is facing.”

“All webinars will feature specialists in the subject areas and we highly recommend all ATAS participants join the webinars as this is essential viewing for all travel businesses.

“Membership of ATAS gives certainty that businesses meet a range of key criteria with the support of a comprehensive management scheme providing a mechanism to resolve issues that cannot be sorted on a business-to-consumer basis.”

AFTA will release Version 6 of the ATAS Charter and Code later this week.
