The Southern Hemisphere’s biggest annual cruise industry event, Cruise360 Australasia will be staged in Brisbane and held outside Sydney for the first time, shoring up Queensland’s reputation as a premier cruise tourism sector.

Cruise360 is on 7 September 2023 at Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre with a welcome cocktail party on 6 September.

Super-earlybird tickets are now available for the annual Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia event.

Cruise360 will feature industry representatives from the CLIA community, including advisors, cruise lines, ports and destinations, industry suppliers and partners.

Brisbane’s burgeoning cruise hub

CLIA Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz said Queensland has become one of the region’s most popular cruise destinations.

“The new Brisbane International Cruise Terminal has made the city an important international cruising hub in the South Pacific,” Mr Katz said.

“Brisbane’s significance will only increase as it prepares to host the 2032 Olympic Games, so we’re delighted that Cruise360 Australasia will be a part of the city’s tourism evolution.”

Queensland Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said cruise ships contributed around $1 billion to the state’s visitor economy pre-COVID.

“We’re keen to see that grow as more ships commit to homeporting and local provisioning in Queensland,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

“Queensland has more ports and anchorages than anywhere else in Australia with access to world-class destinations and tourism experiences for passengers to explore.”

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said attracting the conference reflected Brisbane’s status as a premier cruising hub in the South Pacific.

“Brisbane has been in demand since cruising returned. The Port of Brisbane’s new International Cruise Terminal is expected to welcome more than 80 cruises next year,” he said.

“We look forward to welcoming hundreds of delegates when they dock in Brisbane for the first time for Cruise360 Australasia.”

CLIA members have access to Cruise360 2023 super-earlybird tickets for $220pp until 31 January 2023 with an additional 10 per cent savings for groups of 10 or more.
