The genius of the Swiss Travel Pass + still time to WIN

Switzerland is a destination filled with sublime beauty, incredible outdoor activities, charming villages, and loads of history. Switzerland is a destination filled with sublime beauty, incredible outdoor activities, charming villages, and loads of history. With so much to see and do, knowing how to navigate it all could be a challenge. Unless you’re like Collette’s Hidden Trails & Majestic Peaks guests who each get a Swiss Travel Pass!

The Swiss Travel Pass (STP) is everything you know about Switzerland – efficient, organised, and considerate – rolled into one tidy pass. It’s the easiest and most convenient way for Australian travellers to explore the country’s exceptional natural, cultural and historical highlights.

Where in the world can you get one handy pass to navigate more than 90 towns and cities? And get access to more than 500 museums? And get mountain excursions? We cannot think of a single other country that offers anything even close to this!

The Swiss Travel Pass is more than convenient and affordable; it’s genius! It takes the guesswork out of how to get around, opens travellers’ minds to consider all forms of transport (thus helping the environment), and removes the burden of the fluctuating Swiss franc to Aussie dollar exchange rate.

Available to tourists from three to 15 days, the STP also makes travel with the clan easy, with special rates for families and children.

What are the main pass perks?

Here are the key benefits of the Swiss Travel Pass:

  • Unlimited travel by train, bus & boat Yes, unlimited! Whether it’s ascending 3,000 metres on the Gornergrat, Europe’s highest mountain railway, taking a scenic bus ride through the vineyards near Vevey or sailing to the walled town of Morat near Neuchâtel, it’s all possible with the STP.
  • Unlimited travel on Premium Panoramic Trains In a country as mountainous (and drop-dead gorgeous) as Switzerland, trains were the most logical way to get from A to B. There are, in fact, over 5,200 kilometres of train tracks. None are more impressive than the six Premium Panoramic trains, though! No ordinary train ride, these wow on every single journey. From the famous Bernina Express to a nostalgic ride aboard the GoldenPass Belle Epoque, all six Premium Panoramic Trains are included, though seat reservation fees apply.
  • Unlimited use of public transport It’s just a tap of the pass to see more than 90 towns and cities across Switzerland. No zones to consider, no digging in a bag for loose francs, simply effortless travel to every STP holder.
  • Free admission to more than 500 museums Swiss Travel Pass users also gain access to 500+ museums across the country. This includes gems like the Glacier Garden in Lucerne and the historic Château Chillon water castle in Montreux.
  • Three mountain excursions It’s the pass that keeps on giving as there are also three included mountain excursions: Rigi, Stanserhorn, and Stoos. Seeing a mountain peak is a given when touring Switzerland, but getting up close? Next level! We love the combo of old and new when visiting Stanserhorn from Lucerne. Take both the historic funicular and high-tech CabriO cable car. STP discounts are available for other mountain excursions, too.

Like Oprah dolling out audience prizes, on Collette’s 11-day Hidden Trails & Majestic Peaks tour, every guest gets a personal Swiss Travel Pass. It opens their free time options in inspiring new ways.

Never has it been easier to be surprised by hidden gems on holiday. With the STP, curiosity is encouraged! You can tell your clients to get lost (in the nicest possible way) or help the know-before-you-go clients with Switzerland Tourism’s handy list of the top 50 exceptional villages.

Places like Stans, near Lucerne, renowned for having one of Switzerland’s most stunning town squares. Or north of Lake Geneva, the quaint wine-growing villages of Praz and Saint-Saphorin.
