Better Connected to the US: Fly United direct from BNE

When a holiday to the US beckons – be it a road trip, an event, or to stand in awe of one of the country’s many famous landmarks, knowing you can get there direct from Brisbane Airport to San Francisco three times a week with United Airlines is the Queenslander equivalent to discovering unicorns are real!

The recent launch of United Airlines’ non-stop flight felt nothing short of magical! This thrice-weekly service gets travellers from Brisbane to San Francisco (and beyond) in under 14 hours. And by beyond, we mean BEYOND.

Better Connected to Beyond

Onward connections from SFO get your clients to more than 80 other North American cities, including the Big Apple, the City of Angels, Sin City, and many other iconic (and less iconic) destinations. United’s total reach for the United States is 210+ cities!

United’s partnership with Virgin Australia provides increased connectivity at this end of the journey, too. Yup, if your client wants to get from Gladstone, Queensland to Gladstone, Portland, it’s possible with United and Virgin without the hassle of rechecking in bags, too. Moreover, there are Virgin Velocity points up for grabs in eligible fare classes!

The Dreamliner Effect

Aboard United’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, passengers enjoy the Dreamliner effect. This includes better cabin design to increase comfort, instil more calmness (great for nervy pax), and decrease jet lag. In addition, it’s a popular aircraft for its improved fuel efficiency giving travellers an even greater feel-good factor.

Once clicked into their seat, passengers in every class onboard – United Economy®, Economy Plus®, United Premium PlusSM premium economy and United Polaris® business class – enjoy in-seat entertainment, individual power outlets and USB ports. What’s more, there’s free inflight WiFi for various messaging platforms as well as optional pre-paid Wi-Fi. This means that if a traveller is desperate to binge-watch the latest Love Island eps and see whose eggs are in whose baskets, they can!

Get down to Business

United Airlines’ new, extra-spacious United Polaris® Business seat ensures comfort for the long-haul journey to San Francisco and back. Two-tone leather seats, a 6-way adjustable headrest, and specially designed cushioning for increased recline support allows your clients to deplane with nary a crick in their neck!

For biz class fliers heading back to Oz, allow extra time at the airport, as United recently took out the Best Business Class Lounge in North America and the Skytrax awards!

Not a business traveller? No worries, you’ll enjoy Brisbane Airport’s award-winning airport and staff, as they snagged not one but two Australia/Pacific awards: Best Airport and Best Staff!

Mission United

The team at United are as amped as we are to be back at BNE. We caught up with Eilis Baldevia, General Manager Airport Operations for Brisbane. She recently moved back to Brisbane from Guam, and is excited to continue her leadership role in Airport Operations in the region. She’s long been familiar with United’s mission ‘connecting people, uniting the world’, and she’s amped that the crew at BNE feel the same.

She commented, “Everyone has the same mission. Which is to connect people, to connect industries. Everyone works together at Brisbane Airport which means we can get out there and explore things again.”
