Flying high: Brisbane Airport wins Best in Australia/Pacific Skytrax awards

Brisbane Airport has maintained award-winning status for its facilities and team, taking out two global awards for Best Airport and Best Airport Staff Australia/Pacific in 2022 at the prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards.

Brisbane Airport has maintained award-winning status for its facilities and team, taking out two global awards for Best Airport and Best Airport Staff Australia/Pacific in 2022 at the prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards.

In a major coup for Queensland travellers, Brisbane Airport (BNE) has been consistently recognised as a world-leading airport – voted Best Airport in Australia/Pacific five times, a four-time winner of Best Airport Staff in Australia/Pacific and continually ranks among the top airports in the world for its size.

Brisbane Airport Corporation CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said the Skytrax awards win was a testament to the hard work and passion of the airport’s people and partners and showcased BNE as the gold standard in aviation service in the region.

“It is humbling that these prestigious awards were decided by millions of passengers voting in the largest global airport customer satisfaction survey,” he said.

“These awards are a public tribute to every member of the BNE family, from airline and ground handling crew to cleaners, security, customs, immigration, ground transport, retail and maintenance staff and our amazing volunteer Ambassadors.

“These awards are a reflection of our people, and our unwavering commitment to serving our customers, from those who travel with us to those who visit, shop and dine at BNE.”

More than $2.5 billion will be invested into BNE over the next five years to cement Brisbane as “Australia’s vibrant 24/7 Airport City”, Mr de Graaff added.

The investment will enhance the airport’s facilities, amenities and services, including new and upcoming routes such as the recently announced United Airlines Brisbane-San Francisco service.
