Inclusive travel push: GALTA partners with Linkd Tourism to amplify LGBTQIA+ advocacy

GALTA, Australia's peak body for LGBTQIA+ travel and tourism, has appointed Linkd Tourism to handle public relations as it works to raise awareness of its advocacy and grow inclusive travel experiences across the country.

GALTA, Australia’s peak body for LGBTQIA+ travel and tourism, has appointed Linkd Tourism to handle public relations as it works to raise awareness of its advocacy and grow inclusive travel experiences across the country.

GALTA, the Gay and Lesbian Tourism Australia association, works with tourism operators, destinations and industry stakeholders to support welcoming travel experiences for LGBTQIA+ visitors within and to Australia, tapping into the growing global momentum seen at IGLTA’s biggest-ever convention in Palm Springs last month.

Under the new partnership, Linkd Tourism will deliver PR initiatives showcasing GALTA’s advocacy work, member activities, industry partnerships and educational efforts across the tourism landscape.

“We’re incredibly excited to be working alongside the team at Linkd Tourism to help elevate awareness of GALTA’s important role in fostering inclusive and welcoming tourism experiences across Australia,” says GALTA vice president Mario Paez.

“Their strong industry relationships, creativity and passion for travel make them the ideal PR partner as we continue to champion LGBTQIA+ tourism and support operators and destinations that embrace diversity and inclusion.”

What does GALTA actually do?

Beyond its industry advocacy, GALTA operates the consumer-facing platform Visit Gay Australia, which promotes LGBTQIA+ welcoming destinations, experiences and tourism businesses to both domestic and international travellers.

The association has also expanded its national membership base, which now spans tourism operators, destinations, accommodation providers, wholesalers and industry partners committed to inclusive tourism.

“GALTA plays an incredibly important role in supporting and strengthening LGBTQIA+ tourism in Australia,” says Linkd Tourism managing director Kylee Kay.

“We are proud to work alongside the organisation to help further highlight its initiatives, industry leadership and the positive impact it continues to have across tourism in Australia.”
