What and when was your first role in tourism?

I started as a tour leader in Europe in 1999, so I’ve been doing it for about 16 years.

If you weren’t in tourism what would you be doing?

I would probably imagine myself doing something outdoors, in sport or PE.

How has the industry changed you?

It’s made me broaden my horizons and like coming home. You forget how good we’ve got it here!

Tell us one of your ‘never fail’ travel hacks…

Always pack your bags and then take half as much!

What’s the #1 country on your bucket list?

That’s a difficult one as I’ve been to a lot of countries, but I would really like to go to India

What’s the best place that you’ve travelled to?

The highlight of my travels has been climbing dunes in Namibia, but also Botswana as well, in particular the Okavango Delta.

What’s your favourite quote or motto?

‘He who wanders is lost’. I think he who wanders is actually found, as you should always go off on your own and explore without a hidden itinerary.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why…

The great explorer Edmund Hillary.

And here’s the QuickFire round!
