The Globus family of brands’ Sydney team marked a major milestone of 95 years in the travel biz recently, starting with a single rowboat to a full fleet of global travel brands.
Globus family of brands (Gfob) began in 1928 when Founder Antonio Mantegazza introduced a rowboat ride on Switzerland’s Lake Lugano.
The global company now has a portfolio of brands spanning independent, touring and cruising holidays across the world’s roads, rivers and railways in 70 countries.
Some of Gfob’s innovative initiatives include being the first to create ‘modern’ European touring holidays, holiday packages that feature multiple countries (Panorama Touring) and introducing Circular Touring – cost-saving holidays that begin and end in the same destination.
Globus family of brands Managing Director Australasia Gai Tyrrell said Antonio Mantegazza had a dream to show travellers the world.
“From creating the world’s first European touring holidays and unveiling value tours for cost-conscious travellers to designing Suite Ships that changed the tide in river cruising, the Globus family of brands has a 95-year history of creating life-enhancing journeys across the globe,” she said.
“As we look back on our history, we’re celebrating this very real, very ‘today’ current of change.”
Don’t forget: Globus family of brands’ book-and-earn agent incentive to earn up to $100 per customer on any new 2023 Globus, Cosmos or Avalon Waterways holiday booked until 30 April 2023.
