HEADS UP: The 2019 dates for Africa's Indaba have had a slight shift

Africa's annual Travel Indaba event has had a slight shift in dates so that it doesn't clash with South Africa's upcoming Presidential nation address and elections.

Africa’s annual Travel Indaba event has had a slight shift in dates so that it doesn’t clash with South Africa’s upcoming Presidential nation address and elections.

Travel Indaba will now be held in South Africa on 2-4 May 2019, a few days before the initial 8 May 2019 start.

Aside from the move in dates, other aspects of the annual event are expected to run as previously announced, including its location, which will continue to be the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.

South African Tourism’s Chief Executive, Sisa Ntshona, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the travel industry’s understanding and patience, and stressed that the team is working hard to ensure a smooth transition to the new dates.

“I have received many calls, emails and texts with advice and support. I am really impressed to experience how the tourism sector gets together.”

“We will now work with all our trade partners to ensure that there is smooth transition into the new date as many would’ve had plans in place already for the previous date. We still have a key role to play in achieving Indaba’s objectives of selling South Africa and the continent to the rest of the world,” Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, CEO at TBCSA added.
