Multi-award-winning Viking is looking for a PR superstar with 5+ years experience to work within their integrated marketing department. As the PR and comms captain, you’ll be responsible for owning the creation, execution, and performance of an effective long and short-term multi-channel communication plan.

Not just any ol’ plan. One that creates waves of brand awareness among consumer and trade audiences, exceeds sales targets, and grows market share. This is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious, passionate, and travel-savvy individual looking to step into a first-time manager role.

What you’ll need to apply:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • An understanding of the travel industry would also be beneficial

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and own a proactive press release schedule promoting global and local news to trade and consumer media
  • Draft and distribute all trade and consumer press releases to relevant media
  • Proactive pitching of on-brand story ideas to key top-tier media
  • Respond in a timely manner to all ad-hoc media enquiries and requests
  • Coordinate all interview opportunities including compilation of detailed briefing documents
  • Organise professional media training where required
  • Nurture media relationships through one-on-ones and regular networking
  • Develop and coordinate a strategic media famil program including identifying top-tier targets, negotiating multi-channel coverage, coordinating all travel arrangements, preparing briefing documents, and follow-through of coverage
  • Host group media famils, where required (like this one)
  • Oversee the coordination of all media events, working with relevant team members to ensure events are delivered on time and KPIs are met
  • Work with Viking’s Senior Copy and Content Manager on all video shoots. This includes content development, production schedules, ship liaison and travel, plus managing all aspects of onboard and on-shore filming
  • Identify, engage and leverage on-brand influencers and their positive WOM across appropriate marketing channels
  • Work closely with the marketing team to implement the content strategy through earned channels
  • Develop relationships with relevant tourism boards and identify partnership opportunities including sharing of assets
  • Identify and negotiate sponsorship opportunities with relevant brand partners, act as the primary contact and ensure all marketing opportunities are fully exploited across owned and paid channels
  • Manage all competition winner communication from notification of prize to driving UGC
  • Develop and manage an internal communications strategy for the ANZ office
  • Acting as a brand custodian to ensure brand language and creative guidelines are always adhered to
  • Monitoring marketing and industry news and trends to enhance marketing activity
  • Weekly reporting and attribution analysis of all coverage
  • Budget management
  • Representing the Viking brand at industry events and expos
