The Travel Junction, part of Flight Centre Travel Group, recently announced the rebrand to Infinity Holidays – a retired FCTG wholesale-only brand. Infinity Holidays General Manager James Whiting explains the move and what it means for travel advisors.
Why did The Travel Junction rebrand as Infinity Holidays?
Infinity Holidays was a trusted, trade-only wholesale brand with almost 30 years of continued operation in Australia. As we continue to grow our wholesale brand in Australian and international markets, Infinity Holidays is a brand we’re bringing back to support global growth aspirations and position our product to service the demands of our agent partners.
This isn’t the same Infinity Holidays as before, though. How is this iteration different?
We are launching Infinity Holidays with an exclusive offering designed to support advisors outside of the Flight Centre Travel Group network. We are incredibly excited about the next round of developments for the brand in the coming months.
We’ve received a lot of feedback from agents who think we only support FCTG advisors. However, that’s not the case – we’re really looking to reaffirm we are here for travel advisors outside the FCTG network.
What has changed in the transition from The Travel Junction to Infinity Holidays?
The name, the look and feel of the website and marketing – and our email addresses! Everything important remains the same: the same commission structure of up to 15 per cent on sales, our exclusive rates and product range and the awesome incentives, such as famils for our agent partners.
So, everything agents know and love about The Travel Junction under a new (old) name?
Absolutely. The team, service and support and, most importantly, the unrivalled product range and pricing are all the same.
What are you looking forward to as GM of Infinity Holidays 2.0?
My role is evolving as we make changes to the business, primarily on a global level as we work closer with our USA wholesaler, GOGO Vacations. In addition, we just launched our new API connectivity program, which will be a big focus for me over the next few months.
While we work out entry into future markets, our core team is based in Brisbane with team members in most states across Australia. The Infinity Holidays brand also operates in New Zealand under a separate leadership with a close working relationship with our team.
What can agents expect in the evolution to a full-service wholesale brand?
In July, we were lucky to welcome highly experienced Infinity Holidays veteran Megan Lowe on board as Business Leader for Australia. We also introduced our dedicated wholesale sales team with more than 80 years’ combined industry experience, who are available via phone and email.
Our commitment to the travel trade is supporting our agent partners however they want to book with us. Our omnichannel approach means advisors can start their booking online and complete the sale offline or vice versa – we believe this is a major differentiator for Infinity Holidays.
In the next phase of brand development, our focus is improving HELiO system functionality specifically for the needs of the travel trade. We will continue listening to our partners to ensure we develop the system in line with their feedback.
Are Infinity Holidays brochures coming back?
We’re looking at bringing some brochures back – at this stage, e-brochures only will be available on our site soon.
Tell us about the new Atlas range.
The Atlas Hotels collection is our first release in the Atlas range. With a handpicked selection of worldwide properties, Atlas leverages our direct supplier relationships to deliver best-in-class rates and availability, exclusive inclusions and exceptional in-destination service. Agents who sell the Atlas range will also receive an additional one per cent commission until the end of 2023. Atlas Hotels are bookable through Infinity Holidays’ online HELiO booking platform, or through their phone sales team on 1300 003 903 or sales@infinityholidays.com.au.
To sum up: what can travel advisors expect when dealing with Infinity Holidays?
World-leading products. Unmatched support. Powerful simplicity.
Lastly, The Travel Junction had a snappy acronym (TTJ). What are we calling Infinity Holidays?
We love the shorter version of Infinity Holidays – IH – simple, effective and easy to use, just like our brand.
