International Rail tracks ahead in 2024 with full agent booking platform

Australian-owned and -operated rail service provider International Rail’s new travel trade platform is now fully operational, offering agents a more convenient, quicker and seamless all-in-one rail and ferry booking experience from quotes through to ticket receipts.

Australian-owned and -operated rail service provider International Rail’s new travel trade platform is now fully operational, offering agents a more convenient, quicker and seamless all-in-one rail and ferry booking experience from quotes through to ticket receipts.

After a soft launch earlier in 2024, International Rail’s new trade platform has seen the company scale its operations to meet demand, including onboarding 20 additional local team members and tripling revenue growth in the last 18 months.

The new platform allows advisors to view and track bookings, staying abreast of the entire process; as well as make credit card payments and access tickets online.

Agents can also download a customer-facing ferry or train PDF itinerary (minus the pricing or commission) for client approvals.

The one-stop shop also features a new live-chat service with a local team member in Australia, which International Rail Owner & Managing Director Jonathan Hume says is “a game-changer” for answering quick queries.

“The introduction of the new service contributes to the success of the business in 2024,” he said.

“By incorporating an offline/complex rail itineraries component, the booking experience becomes significantly smoother from the time a quote or booking is requested until receipt of the tickets.

“The introduction of this new service further strengthens International Rail’s position in the market as a reputable local Australian one-stop shop for agents, which enables them to create a complete rail holiday experience for their clients.”
