Five itravel advisors recently experienced an exclusive six-day New York City famil with NYC Tourism + Conventions and United Airlines, going beyond the typical tourist attractions to uncover the city’s hidden gems.
The trip was designed to spotlight NYC’s vibrant neighbourhoods outside of Midtown Manhattan, offering a fresh perspective for advisors.
Hosted by United Airlines’ Richard Carrick and Antonio Khattar from NYC Tourism + Conventions and accompanied by itravel Head of Product & Marketing Dee Jaswal, the group embarked on a curated itinerary of the city’s culturally rich areas, such as Brooklyn’s art scene and Williamsburg’s trendy streets.
Famil highlights included a private, before-hours tour of MoMA, an evening view from Edge NYC sky deck at Hudson Yards, a visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and a Top of the Rock with Sky Lift experience.
Like a Local Tours escorted agents through Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) on a Brooklyn food tour and the group also dined at some of the city’s most talked-about restaurants.
Jaswal said: “Our aim was to give our advisors a deeper understanding of New York City, beyond the usual attractions. By exploring lesser-known neighbourhoods, they now have a wealth of new ideas to create bespoke, authentic itineraries for their clients.”
The group stayed at Ace Hotel Brooklyn, Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC and The Beekman Hotel and had exclusive site inspections of some of New York’s top properties, including The Hoxton and Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg and Hotel Beacon on the Upper West Side.
Advisors also enjoyed United Airlines’ Economy Plus service with pre-flight access to the United Club Lounge.
