While on one side of the Flight Centre Group looks at new avenues for growth, acquisition opportunities and promoting travel, the other finds ways to help make a difference to those in need.
The Flight Centre Foundation and its longtime partner, Redkite, have worked together over the last few years to raise funds that go towards providing support packs for teenagers and young adults diagnosed with cancer.
Each pack includes age-appropriate information and resources during the time of diagnosis and through treatment as well as toiletries, magazines, a water bottle, reusable coffee cup and a diary.
Packs are put together over two days every year by volunteers from the Flight Centre Group.
Pictured are 35 employees who recently took time out for the two-day workshop. They include volunteers from Flight Centre, Cruiseabout, Escape Travel, Students, Corporate Traveller, FCM, Travel Club, Stage and Screen, Travel Money Oz, ciloyalty, Moneywise and Healthwise.
The packs are distributed to hospitals and treatment centres around Australia and rely on the workplace giving donations make through the Flight Centre Travel Group, which are matched by the company.
A highlight of the two-day packing workshop was meeting Redkite’s CEO Jenni Seton and Redkite ambassador Anthony, 19 year old uni student who received one of the bags when he received his diagnosis.
