KARRYON FAM WRAP: Africa, Sri Lanka, Slovakia + More!

Work hard; play hard. That’s the universal travel agent’s motto, right? RIGHT! Yes, you love to make other people’s dreams come true, but sometimes it’s nice to pack your bags and set off on your own adventure too.

Work hard; play hard. That’s the universal travel agent’s motto, right? RIGHT! Yes, you love to make other people’s dreams come true, but sometimes it’s nice to pack your bags and set off on your own adventure too.

Famils are going strong (shout out to all the wonderful companies that you sell) and we love to see your happy little faces while overseas.

That’s why we’re bringing you a weekly famil wrap, so we can all have a nose as to what you’ve been up to and to give you some extra bragging rights, because, let’s face it… the travel industry is the best industry in the world? #travelforlife

Can you spot yourself or someone you know?

Last month, Cruise & Maritime Voyages hosted 20 travel agents on a famil onboard Vasco da Gama’s inaugural Australian voyage, where agents discovered the three important ingredients for a perfect cruise:

1) Space – Vasco da Gama has capacity for 1,220 passengers. She could easily carry more but doesn’t. That means no queues, no rubbing shoulders with other guests in the lounges or competing for a sun chair beside the outdoor Oasis Pool.

2) Adventure – Vasco da Gama favours smaller ports; meaning there’s greater flexibility in the itinerary and more opportunities to disembark somewhere new.

3) People to share the voyage with – Most of the travel agents on the famil arrived as strangers but left as friends.

The famil group of nine personal travel managers (PTMs) were escorted throughout the week-long itinerary by Chad Carey from GetAbout Asia.

During their time in Sri Lanka they travelled throughout the southwest quarter of the country, taking in many of its most popular sights including the aforementioned tea country, the ancient rock fortress at Sigiriya and the city of Galle on the south coast.

“I thought the whole itinerary was perfect and contained many different experiences which my clients would love,”

Lisa Malnar, TravelManagers’ representative for Marrara, NT.
