KARRYON FAM WRAP: Singapore, Italy & Iceland

Work hard; play hard. That’s the universal travel agent’s motto, right? RIGHT! Yes, you love to make other people’s dreams come true, but sometimes it’s nice to pack your bags and set off on your own adventure too.

Ten lucky Agents spent four days exploring the best that Singapore has to offer with Excite Holidays and Singapore Tourism Board.

As a VIP-themed trip, no expense was spared ensuring the agents experienced their own version of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’!

After flying into Changi Airport, the Agents were greeted for a special check-in experience at the incredible Fairmont Singapore.

They were quickly whisked up to level 25 for check-in at the exclusive Fairmont Gold Lounge, before getting to their individual rooms with sweeping views of Marina Bay.

Over the four days, the agents were treated to some of the most exclusive dining experiences in Singapore, dining at Michelin-starred Braci, Stellar at 1-Altitude, Members-only club Straits Clan and the Tiffin Room, in the iconic Raffles Hotel.

They also had a chance to visit some of the world’s best bars, including the 8th ranked Atlas Bar, and the iconic Long Bar at Raffles Hotel where they enjoyed a classic Singapore Sling.

It wasn’t all eating and drinking, however – with a range of great experiences including luge and segway adventures on Sentosa Island, a private gin making class, tours of historic districts, shopping on Orchard Road, luxurious 45-minute massages, and a unique sidecar experience that took the agents through the city before finishing at Gardens by the Bay.

All of this plus an exclusive private event at Rabbit Hole on Dempsey Hill where the agents arrived in style, dressed to impress and had a great night at one of Singapore’s hidden gems.

Iceland’s Contrasts on Display for TravelManagers

Iceland is a small country of big contrasts: steaming lava fields and vast glaciers, towering waterfalls and deep fjords, icy lakes and warm people.

When Collette Tours recently invited 34 Australian Travel Agents on a seven-day famil to sample the diversity of this fascinating country, TravelManagers’ Erryn Morris and Alison Parker, were among those who accepted.

The PTM’s who represent Gooseberry Hill and Swan View, WA began their itinerary in Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavík.

They joined a local expert for a walking tour of the city’s old section and were treated to their first taste of authentic local cuisine during a grand Icelandic dinner.

The Golden Circle is the name given to a popular touring route that starts and finishes in Reykjavík, looping into the southern uplands and encompassing many of the country’s most renowned highlights.

The famil group spent a day exploring this circuit on a loop which took in natural wonders such as Gullfoss waterfall and the explosive Strokkur geyser. It also took them to a local dairy farm, where participants learned about the lifestyle and sampled cheeses, and Friðheimar greenhouse cultivation centre.

The itinerary continued to Vík, one of the most visited spots in Iceland where the group went whale watching and took a dip in the world-famous Blue Lagoon.

The PTMs agreed Collette Tours were a great way to see Iceland with lots of inclusions which is important in a destination that can be quite expensive.
