LIFE OF LUXURY: Travel agents replicate holidays of the wealthy in the Maldives

There are some experiences that money can't buy, and then there are those that ONLY money can buy – that's the kind of getaway consultants were recently treated to with Club Med in the Maldives.

There are some experiences that money can’t buy, and then there are those that ONLY money can buy – that’s the kind of getaway consultants were recently treated to with Club Med in the Maldives.

The incredibly lucky group of seven personal travel managers (PTMs) were flown to the prosperous tropical nation via Singapore for four nights of water sports, fine dining, yoga, fine dining, swimming, fine dining, cocktails and fine dining.

Accompanied by Club Med’s BDM, Adam Ferraro and TravelManagers’ Fares and Ticketing Manager, Jose Canas, the group absorbed all of Club Med Kani and Finolhu Villas’s offerings from its Beach Bar to Velhi Restaurant.

PTM for Norah Head in NSW, Michelle Thomas, the experience would make it easier for her to sell the Club Med property in the Maldives to her clients, while Barbara Turner from Scarborough in WA described it as “brilliant”.

“I’ve already made a client booking and I’ve only been back for two days!”

Darren Kelk from South Yarra in VIC enjoyed the “perfect holiday” so much he’s planning to return in the coming year, and is most looking forward to reliving Club Med’s all-inclusive concept that allows him to relax “without having to think about spending money or signing bills everytime you order something”.

After two wonderful days at Club Med Kani, the group transferred to the nearby Finolhu Villas for a final day and night of indulgence, which Michelle related to “paradise on steroids”.

The group’s final evening in the Maldives involved sipping glasses of chilled Champagne as they watched the sunset, before heading to the overwater, fine-dining Moto restaurant, whose central bar offers a window to the ocean world below through a special glass floor.
