We all know the good people of the Travel Industry love a drink…or two or three and any excuse to get frocked up, so we expect plenty of colourful celebrations will be underway today for the race that stops the nation.

Meanwhile, at Helloworld Travel Rochedale in Queensland, it’s a solo party for one Travel Agent who took to the shop’s Instagram page to ponder what one does on Melbourne Cup Day with no invites and no staff?

AccorHotels’ head office staff, on the other hand, will be celebrating Melbourne Cup in their boardroom together with views over Sydney Harbour, whilst nibbling on platters and sipping champers this afternoon. It’s a hard life for some!

Over at Asia Escape Holidays, the annual horse racing celebration saw the entire team pull out the fancy cocktail wear and fascinators.
Staff enjoyed a cocktail or mocktail before watching the race.
