Destination Vancouver has named Global Tourism Solutions (GTS) to support its travel trade strategy in the Australian market. In addition, GTS has added Dianna Schinella to the account as the Destination Vancouver In-Market Representative for Australia.
Destination Vancouver International Market Manager Megan Nelson will continue to lead the travel trade strategy and key trade partnerships for Destination Vancouver in Australia from Vancouver.
Schinella will support in-market activities, focusing on travel advisor engagement, training, events and product development, joining the in-market sales mission in Australia this week.
She brings more than 22 years’ travel industry experience and expertise in the Asia-Pacific region across sales, marketing, partnerships and business development.

This includes her extensive cruise sector background with Aurora Expeditions and on a short-term project basis with Quark Expeditions, which will help reinforce Vancouver as a homeport and gateway for Alaska cruises, driving awareness of pre- and post-cruise stays and expanding engagement with the Vancouver Specialist Program.
Schinella also spent almost seven years as a Sales Manager with Rocky Mountaineer, where she developed a strong personal connection and deep understanding of Vancouver.

Nelson said Schinella’s experience and passion will strengthen Destination Vancouver’s presence in Australia.
“As a key international market, Australia presents significant opportunities for Vancouver. This investment will deepen our trade relationships, enhance engagement and further strengthen our market presence. By working closely with our partners, we will continue to drive demand and position Vancouver as a year-round, must-visit destination,” she said.

GTS Founder & Director Joanne Motta said GTS welcomed Destination Vancouver as a client and Schinella to the team.
“GTS is thrilled to be working with Destination Vancouver as a client. Having worked alongside Di during her time at Rocky Mountaineer, I know her experience, passion, and personal connection to Vancouver make her uniquely positioned to drive success in the Australian market. It’s a pleasure having Di join the team,” Motta said.
