Discova has added James Whiting as Senior Account Manager for Australia & New Zealand, reinforcing its commitment to closer collaboration with advisors in the region and expanding its footprint in the premium, experience-led travel space.
As Flight Centre Travel Group’s Asia destination management company, the new appointment strengthens the DMC’s ability to support partners across Australasia, particularly within high-value segments.
Based in Melbourne, Whiting steps into the role at a time when demand for tailored, culturally immersive travel across Asia continues to rise.

He joins Discova from his most recent role as Sales & Operations Team Leader at Hurtigruten Group, along with 12.5 years in retail sales at Flight Centre Travel Group.
With 15 years’ experience spanning travel sales, operations and retail, he brings a well-rounded understanding of both advisor needs and evolving traveller expectations.

Whiting will act as a key point of contact for Luxury Travel Collective and Travel Associates advisors, helping unlock new opportunities and streamline access to its B2B Asia product offering.
His experience in luxury and tailor-made travel aligns closely with Discova’s focus on delivering personalised, purpose-driven journeys.

Discova’s Vice President – Sales, North America & APAC, Nicholas Shuttleworth said: “We’re excited to have James join the ANZ team, strengthening the way we partner with and support our agent community across the region.”
“James brings deep experience across the luxury and tailor‑made space and will be a great point of contact.”

Whiting said he was eager to contribute to Discova’s continued growth trajectory in the region while deepening relationships with agency partners.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Discova as we continue to grow and deliver authentic, local and purpose-driven journeys for our guests,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with our partners across the ANZ market and ready to talk all things sustainable travel, community-led experiences and bespoke, bucket-list destinations.”
