Hurtigruten is strengthening its APAC strategy with the appointment of Andrew Eddy as Sales Director. His return comes at a crucial moment as the company sharpens its regional focus following a major restructuring.

Hurtigruten Group’s recent $500 million sale to private equity firm TDR Capital marked a turning point for the brand. The deal led to the company’s split into two distinct entities: Hurtigruten Expeditions, focused on adventure cruising, and Hurtigruten, dedicated to its historic Norwegian coastal voyages.

This strategic separation sharpened Hurtigruten’s business model, allowing it to focus more effectively on key markets, including APAC. With regional expansion a priority, the appointment of Andrew Eddy as Sales Director APAC is a direct response to the increasing demand for premium cruise experiences. His expertise will be instrumental in solidifying Hurtigruten’s foothold in the region and driving new trade partnerships.

What does Andrew Eddy’s appointment mean for the trade?

Eddy’s return signals a renewed focus on regional leadership as the cruise line builds a dedicated APAC management and support team. His extensive experience in the travel industry, most recently with Adventure World as head of sales, positions him well to strengthen trade partnerships and expand the brand’s presence in key markets.

APAC Managing Director Damian Perry welcomed Eddy back to the team.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have Andrew back at Hurtigruten,” he said.

“Andrew is one of our greatest brand advocates, and he wore the Hurtigruten badge with pride. He was, and always is, a positive influence on our business, on our performance, and our people, partners, and guests.”

Adventure World’s Managing Director Neil Rodgers also praised Eddy’s industry contributions.

“Adventure World extends its sincere congratulations to Andrew Eddy on his appointment as Sales Director for the APAC region at Hurtigruten,” he said.

“We are delighted to see Andy assume this senior leadership position with such a valued partner.

“During his time at Adventure World, Andrew consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and made significant contributions to our success.

“His passion for sustainable travel, coupled with his extensive industry knowledge and strong network of relationships, will undoubtedly be invaluable assets to Hurtigruten as they enter this exciting new phase.

“We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Hurtigruten and supporting Andrew in his new role.”
