Movers + Shakers: 1000 Mile Travel Group adds new GM Australia; boosts global execs

Independent travel advisor network 1000 Mile Travel Group has appointed four new senior executives to its leadership team to support its global growth strategy, including Lauren Gray as Australian General Manager.

Independent travel advisor network 1000 Mile Travel Group has appointed four new senior executives to its leadership team to support its global growth strategy, including Lauren Gray as Australian General Manager.

The new 1000 Mile Travel Group appointments include Senior Vice President and General Manager, North America Christy Schafer; General Manager, UK Alex Locke and Global Chief Operating Officer Craig Constable.

After the company’s acquisition by Corporate Travel Management (CTM) in July 2022, 1000 Mile Travel Group launched its host agency model in the US and continues to focus on expanding its independent travel advisor network in the UK and Australian markets.

Central to that growth strategy is building a highly experienced, focused leadership team in each market to steer regional growth.

Lauren Gray is an experienced leader in the Australian corporate travel market, managing small to medium-sized businesses.

Drawn to the entrepreneurial spirit of 1000 Mile Travel Group (1000MTG), Mr Gray believes the future is bright for its people and customers.

“I’m excited by the entrepreneurial approach of 1000 Mile Travel and its growth outlook,” Ms Gray said.

“The company provides a unique opportunity for travel experts to take charge of their future as independent business owners. With the backing of CTM’s proprietary technology and global buying power, it’s a really exciting time to join the network.”

1000MTG Co-Founder and Co-CEO Ben Ross said: “Under the expert guidance of these new regional GMs and Global COO, our business is well-placed to maximise opportunities in 2023 and beyond.”

“We’ll introduce standardised platforms and systems for corporate travel business owners across all regions, creating seamless access to worldwide travel content.

“We’re developing regionally relevant partnerships that support the travel needs of each region and customer segment while delivering more streamlined experiences for our travel advisors and their clients,” Mr Ross said.
