Independent travel franchise and mobile travel agent network itravel has appointed Cherie Bowman as Head of Product and Head of the group’s new luxury division, LUXE by itravel.

Bowman commenced the position on 17 April (Monday) and brings 15 years of industry experience to her role across multiple travel sectors – from travel consultant experience to sales-focused roles.

Most recently, Bowman was an industry account manager at Lindblad Expeditions. Prior to that, she worked as a sales development manager at Scenic Cruises and Tours and before that as a business development manager at Princess Cruises.

Impressively, Bowman also scored nominations for Best Sales Executive – Industry Supplier at AFTA’s National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs) four times (2013, 2016, 2018, 2019).

“Many in the itravel network already know Cherie and are looking forward to having her as part of the itravel team,” itravel told Karryon in an email.

“Speaking with Cherie, her decision to join itravel in the new role was twofold: firstly, it’s an opportunity for her to fully utilise her existing skill set and secondly to be involved in building a brand from the ground up.”

itravel Australia managing director Steve Labroski told Karryon at the Virtuoso AUNZ Forum in Fiji that a lot of travel advisors had already joined the initiative.

Meanwhile, itravel this week teamed up with Pelikin and Evolution Travel Collective to launch a co-branded affiliate travel money product.

The group’s Megan Catterrall also won the award for Mobile/Home-Based Agent of the Year at last month’s Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia Cruise Industry Awards.
