Finnair has re-established a direct presence in the Australian travel market again after temporarily closing its local office.
Appointed Regional Manager Australia and New Zealand, Sue Watts will represent Finnair down under effective immediately.
Brisbane-based Watts was previously a business development manager with the airline for nearly three years until March 2021.
“Australia being Finnair’s largest offline market, we have reconsidered our earlier decision regarding our presence,” Finnair General Manager APAC region Tamas Hanyi said.
“Finnair’s Asian and US network continue to be well positioned to serve our Australian customers traveling to/from Europe, providing various routing options.
“We would like to congratulate Sue Watts who has re-joined the Finnair team.
“She is based in Brisbane and supporting trade partners across the Australian and New Zealand markets.”
The Helsinki-based carrier closed its Australian office in late 2022 while restructuring its global sales divisions.
Last year, the airline unveiled a new cabin experience on selected routes across its long-haul network. The complete cabin renewal is currently being rolled out on all its Airbus A350 and A330 aircraft.
