TravelManagers and House of Travel Group have launched a group-wide cruise strategy with a newly formed joint Cruise Product and Wholesale team. Jeff Leckey will steer the team as General Manager Cruise – Australasia.
This ensures TravelManagers can capitalise on the potential for expansion amid an ongoing surge in demand for cruise travel.
In July 2023, the travel agent network reported an average value per booking increase with a 71 per cent rise and bookings for cruising holidays within a six- to 12-month booking window and beyond.
House of Travel New Zealand CEO and House of Travel Australia Chair Bruce Parton said Mr Leckey has a proven track record in cruising.
“Jeff brings decades of experience to his new role, including six years as House of Travel’s New Zealand-based Cruise General Manager,” he said.
“Under his tenure, House of Travel became the leading cruise retailer in New Zealand in 2018 – a position it retains.”
A new cruise strategy
CEO Joe Araullo said he is excited by the strategic opportunities for both brands.
“House of Travel Group’s new cruise strategy indicates its commitment to the sector and will allow us to capitalise on the combined volumes and expertise we already have,” he said.

TravelManagers Cruise Product Manager Lia Malone also joins the new team, which will develop market-ready cruise product for travel advisors.
