Qantas has promoted longtime senior executive Oronzo Miccoli to Head of Corporate & Government Sales in Sydney. Miccoli will set the overarching corporate sales strategy and oversee key corporate and government accounts.
Miccoli, who will commence in his new role in January 2025, has worked at Qantas since 2013 in various senior commercial positions, including leading the Planning, Performance & Finance team.
He is currently based in Los Angeles as Senior Executive Vice President for the Americas, overseeing commercial, financial and operational performance across the US, Canada and South America.
During his tenure in the Americas, he steered the airline through significant milestones, including the return to San Francisco and launch of the Sydney-Auckland-New York route in June 2023, now flying six times a week.
Qantas Executive Manager Global Sales & Distribution Kathryn Robertson said: “We’re so excited to be welcoming Oronzo back to Australia and into this incredibly important role supporting our corporate customers and stakeholders across the country.”
“His strong leadership skills, extensive experience in managing trade and government partnerships and deep understanding of the industry have prepared Oronzo well to lead this critical area of the business.”
On his new role, Miccoli said: “It has been an honour to guide our Americas region through the post-COVID restart as we restored our international capacity, rebuilt relationships with our partners and brought new routes online.”
“I’m looking forward to returning to Australia and further strengthening the relationships with our important corporate and government partners.”
