Spathis replaces Bennett at helloworld

Helloworld Limited has announced a slight change to its board of directors, as Peter Spathis steps in to replace Stephen Bennett.

Helloworld Limited has announced a slight change to its board of directors, as Peter Spathis steps in to replace Stephen Bennett.

Bennett, who has served on the board since 2011, announced his decision to retire from his position as non-executive director this week.

According to an ASX update, his departure comes due to ‘increased executive commitments’.

Effective from yesterday, Bennett has been replaced by Spathis, who returns to the company after more than two years.

Spathis has over 25 years industry experience, and originally served on Jetset Travelworld Limited’s (Helloworld Limited’s former company name) board from 2002 to 2012.

He left two and half years ago only to be once again reappointed to the board this week by Sintack Limited, which is controlled by the Alysandratos family, who also own Consolidated Travel where Spathis currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer.

He is an Accountant and Registered Tax Agent and is responsible for Consolidated Travel’s financial management.

helloworld’s chairman Brett Johnson welcomed Spathis to the board and said he expects the business will ‘benefit’ from his wealth of knowledge and experience.

“Steve has been a valuable member of the helloworld Board and has provided advice and guidance to both me and my colleagues through a period of significant change and transformation for the Company.”

The recreated event was renamed from ‘Corporate Symposium’ to ‘The helloworld for Business Summit‘.
