Insight Vacations is losing its Managing Director after Joost Timmer announced his departure from the Australian company.
Confirmed this morning, Timmer will official step down from the MD role on 15 January 2016 to pursue opportunities outside The Travel Corporation (TTC).
Having lead the company for over four years, Timmer oversaw the increasingly popularity of Insight Vacations’ ‘signature events’ – a unique collection of events designed to give customers more authentic experiences in various destinations.
Timmer said it would be ‘difficult’ to leave a team of ‘outstanding people’.
“After four enjoyable and successful years heading up Insight Vacations in Australia it has been a difficult decision to make.”

The Travel Corporation Australia’s CEO John Veitch added that the company was ‘extremely sorry’ to see Timmer depart considering the huge asset he has been to the company.
“Joost has been a huge asset to the organisation and made a tremendous contribution to the growth of Insight Vacations during his tenure including the building of a strong team, one of the best in the industry.”
