NCL’s annual Walk for Wellness steps up with world record attempt

This will be the fourth year that Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has encouraged us to lace up in the name of wellbeing. But 2023 adds a twist: an ambitious global record attempt that aims to bring us together in travel.

This will be the fourth year that Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has encouraged us to lace up in the name of wellbeing. But 2023 adds a twist: an ambitious global record attempt that aims to bring us together in travel.

It’s that time of year when many in our industry ready their runners for NCL’s Walk for Wellness. Originating as a means for NCL to support its agents, Walk for Wellness has since become a beacon of industry resilience.

And in 2023 the cruise line wants everyone on board to join NCL’s official world record attempt for the longest distance achieved by a team of travel professionals in one month.

“Last year, 1000 travel partners walked with us,” Ben Angell, NCL MD and VP APAC said.

“This year we’re aiming higher and asking the entire Australian and New Zealand travel community to join us as we walk for our collective wellbeing, and to set a world record – a powerful signal that we are here, we are strong, and we are together.”

When is it?

Walk for Wellness 2023 will run from 1-31 October, dovetailing with National Mental Health Month and aligning with the WHO Mental Health Day on 10 October.

This year, walkers are being invited to ‘Think International, Think NCL’, by walking around a world map. Dive deep into top spots loved by Aussie and Kiwi cruisers: such as Hawaii, Alaska, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and Asia. Along the way, walkers can unlock weekly challenges, surprises, and PRIZES (including a Europe cruise prize) to keep them on track!

NCL has also pledged to donate $1000 each time a milestone is reached to mental health charity Mood Active. The organisation empowers people to better manage their mental health through exercise, so the shoe fits!

Participants can walk in a group, on their own, or even embark on a journey with their local NCL Business Development Manager via the free MoveSpring mobile app.
