Well, Janis McDonald and Michelle Nickelson, who dubbed themselves “The Outback Queens” are the new Sales Team duo that has been added to the Outback Queensland Tourism Association family.
What’s the story?
What started off as a discussion of only five days of sales blitzing to Queensland Travel Agents have turned into four months of success!
So, what have The Outback Queens learnt during their time so far?
Well, there are plenty of dinosaur fossils in many of the Queensland Outback regions, outdoor bathtubs are a definite Insta opportunity with a glass of wine and cheese platter at sunset, a stay on one of the many cattle stations, experience a curried camel pie with a beer at lunchtime at the Birdsville Bakery and the stunning national parks.
Outback Queensland is incredibly popular at the moment with a huge spike in first-time visitors at the moment and the Outback Qld Tourism Brand Ambassadors have been on the road updating agents on top experiences and trade ready products.
There’s also been an influx of agents heading west to experience the products first-hand and let’s just say… They seem to be impressed!
Outback operators are excited with the increase in bookings from travel agents and look forward to working closely with them as we navigate this ‘new normal’ way of travelling.
There really is something for everyone in Outback Queensland… and ‘the Outback Queens’ can’t wait to see you, and your clients, there for a smoko!
