A personal travel manager hosted a charity tournament to raise money for her team of walkers, who took part in the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life.

Held at the Mornington Golf Club on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, the day was organised by TravelManagers’ Kellie Browning, Business Partnership Manager for Victoria.

“I’m lucky to have access to a fabulous network of people who were happy to spend valuable time with clients, suppliers and personal travel managers (PTMs) and raise money for a great cause, while they were enjoying themselves.”

Invitations were sent out to local PTMs and their families, partner suppliers and clients of the invited PTMs.

Sixty-four people turned up to raise money for the Cancer Council.

In total, 64 people participated, coming from Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

A barista mobile coffee van was on hand to get the day started, and TravelManagers sold egg and bacon rolls for those who had skipped breakfast to be there for the 9am shotgun start.

Sixteen teams of four headed out on the course for an Ambrose game, while a crew of TravelManagers national partnership office (NPO) staff and PTMs spent the day driving round in golf carts selling refreshments and raffle tickets. All funds raised went directly to charity.

Sponsors for the day included Allianz Global Assistance, who provided a barbeque lunch. Plus prizes were donated by a generous group of suppliers.

Leonie Littlefield said Allianz Global Assistance was delighted to be involved.

“To assist in raising money for a very worthwhile cause at the same time made it a win-win function.”

Along with prizes for first, second and third in the competition, sponsors also provided prizes for raffles and in categories that included nearest the pin, straightest drive and longest drive.
