Qantas lowers trans-Tasman fares by up to 5% for travel agents

From 29 August 2023, Australian and New Zealand travel advisors can access discounted trans-Tasman fares by up to five per cent using the Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP) compared to other booking systems.

From 29 August 2023, Australian and New Zealand travel advisors can access discounted trans-Tasman fares by up to five per cent using the Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP) compared to other booking systems.

The new pricing follows the implementation of reduced Australian domestic fares of up to four per cent on base fares in November last year to extend to Qantas New Zealand flights as well.

The discounts will be applied to bookings made through the Qantas Distribution Platform only, which can be accessed by travel professionals who have registered in the Qantas Channel.

QDP is a technology platform that consolidates airline ticketing, booking and servicing capabilities for travel agencies, delivering a more personalised shopping experience for customers.

Access to the QDP must be gained via an Approved Technology Partner or a direct connection to Qantas’ NDC XML Application Program Interface (API).

Qantas Executive Manager of Global Sales and Distribution Igor Kwiatkowski said the extension of the lower pricing initiative will continue to reward travel advisors who use the QDP for their clients.

“We’ve continued to invest in and modernise our distribution capabilities to the highest industry standards and we’re committed to providing agents with richer content so they can better serve our mutual customers,” Mr Kwiatkowski said.
