With the world opening up again, Qatar is perfectly placed to host travellers stopping over en-route to Europe and back to Australia. And given the Arabian Gulf nation is also set to host the FIFA World Cup in November 2022, Qatar is tipped to become one of the most sought after destinations to visit next year and beyond.
Next week will see an exciting range of new opportunities launched for Australian travel advisors thanks to Qatar Tourism and its multi-award-winning national carrier Qatar Airways (QR).
We can’t give too much away at this stage, but let’s just say – you and your clients are going to ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
From an incredible incentive opportunity happening in 2022 to a comprehensive training programme and phenomenal value stopover packages in Doha of the likes, we’ve never seen before, these initiatives will help you reframe the way Australian travellers want to fly from one side of the world to the other.
Qatar is open and ready for your arrival

Sophisticated, modern, traditional, luxurious: Qatar checks every box.
The good news too is that entry restrictions have now been eased in Qatar as it reopens quarantine-free for tourism, with over 95 nationalities currently being offered Visa-Free access into the Gulf State, including both Australia and New Zealand.
All in time for Australia’s international border reopening on Monday 1 November. There are now 188 countries on Qatar’s ‘green list’ for fully-vaccinated travellers, with children 11 years old and undertaking their parents’ vaccination status.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways continues to rebuild its network with more frequencies being added to key hubs. Qatar Airways offers unrivalled connectivity to passengers, making it easy to connect seamlessly via Doha to a destination of their choice.
Qatar Airways has never stopped flying to Australia during the pandemic, bringing hundreds of stranded Aussies home on repatriation flights and becoming the airline of choice and trust for the trade.
It was also recently awarded ‘Airline of the Year’ for the sixth time by the international air transport rating organisation Skytrax and secured five additional awards.
Known as the Oscars of the Aviation Industry, the 2021 Skytrax awards importantly covered the period from September 2019 to July 2021, with the results reflecting a mix of more normal travel times combined with travel during the pandemic.
Qatar Airways has also been setting the industry benchmarks for COVID-19 biosafety and hygiene by being the first airline to receive Skytrax 5-stars COVID19 Safety ratings where 99.988% of its passengers travel COVID-19-free.
Qatar Airways will also restart its daily Sydney and Melbourne flights to Doha and then onward to more than 140 destinations worldwide from 1 December. It’s fantastic news for both travellers heading north and Australians returning home in time for Christmas.
In August, Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways home and hub, was also voted the World’s Best Airport 2021.
Qatar Airways’ Doha hub has also earned the Skytrax 5-stars COVID-19 Safety ratings, making Qatar Airways the only Middle-Eastern carrier where both the airline and its airport secured the highest Skytrax safety ratings.
With travel back on the cards, 2022 is shaping up to be Qatar’s year to shine for so many reasons, and from next week you’ll be able to reap the rewards of becoming an active ambassador for the destination and Qatar Airways, collectively as part of the reset of travel.
