Canada’s record-breaking Rendez-Vous show which wrapped up in Toronto on Friday welcomed 1,900 delegates, including 15 buyers from Australia, looking to expand and strengthen their Canadian product offering.
Karryon caught up with a few fellow Australians during the show to see what gems they uncovered during their time on the floor.
Marketing Director for Canada & Alaska Travel connection in Australia, Caroline Brunel said for her, Rendez Vous 2019 had been all about broadening horizons.
“For us, it’s about thinking what else can we start programming that the Aussies are not really familiar with. It’s almost planting a seed and saying have you thought of Quebec or what about Nova Scotia?”

“For us, the positioning is very much around bespoke experiences so we are always trying to find that nice little lodge in the middle of nowhere that maybe not all of our competitors will be willing to program,” she said.
Product Manager for Adventure World Australia Kristy Prince said for her, this year was about catching up with her existing contacts and deepening those relationships.
“The last few years it has been about enhancing and growing the product range but this year we are focusing on what we already have. We’re just building that up a little bit.”

“There is always something new and there will always be little changes but we want agents to get a little more familiar with what we already have rather than always inundating with new stuff,” she said.
The Australian buyers all agreed that the show has been very fruitful for them.
