Qatar Tourism is on the lookout for an experienced sales executive with an exceptional track record in managing travel agency groups and delivering results, to manage relationships with Visit Qatar’s trade and promotional partners in key markets.
The successful candidate will develop a successful, consistent and commercially prudent approach to market activity to drive maximum visitation in the promotion of Qatar as a tourism destination for Australian and New Zealand travellers.
Working closely with Qatar Airways and Discover Qatar on joint promotional and sales activities, developing and executing strategic account plans, and representing Visit Qatar at trade and promotional events.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Develops and maintains long-term strategic relationships with Visit Qatar partners.
- Target focus on key Travel agency, tour operators/ OTA’s to increase Qatar product placement and drive adoption of the Qatar Stopover Program via target-based marketing/ partnership agreements.
- Prepare an account development plan to achieve short, medium- and long-term mutual benefits for trade and promotional partners.
- Prepare internal proposals which clearly articulate the opportunity and ROI for projects and initiatives which promote Qatar in the market.
- Complete & execute key account activity plans and initiatives to promote Qatar and drive visitation to Qatar with the support of Regional Manager and Doha based Coordinators.
- Partner with the Qatar Airways and Discover Qatar sales team to promote the Qatar Stopover Program and Qatar as a tourism destination.
- Provide training to partners so that they can confidently sell and promote Qatar.
- Coordinate and attend trade shows, workshops and fam trips.
- Coordinate trade marketing to promote Qatar across the trade media channels.
- Collaborate with VQ stakeholders – Qatar Airways, Hotels, Discover Qatar, Other DMC’s, and Qatar Attractions
- Generate monthly sales reports and continually communicate with Melbourne based Regional Market Manager to agree priorities, highlight successes and blockers.
- Destination training to the travel trade and increase Qatar Specialist Program (online training and travel trade engagement platform) subscriptions and interactions.
- Look for opportunities for strategic alliances in MICE, Leisure and Business travel verticals.
- Perform other department duties related to his/ her position as directed by Head of the Department.
What you’ll need to apply:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience generating and delivering target driven partnerships/ commercial agreements.
- Exceptional track record in managing travel agency groups and delivering results.
- Experience in managing trade incentives.
- Experience in organising and running training and trade show sessions.
- Experience in organising and hosting FAM trips.
- Experience in influencing multiple stakeholders to articulate opportunities.
- Knowledgeable on what drives trade sales from the markets of responsibility.
- Hands-on attitude and should be able to decide and react under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively with members of the Senior leadership team.
- Adaptable, flexible and demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines.
- Aptitude for destination marketing and experience with trade and consumer media.
- Candidate must be able to frequently travel interstate and internationally.
