Sno’n’Ski Holidays’ epic eight-day 2024 Mega Famil has wrapped, taking 30 Aussie travel advisors and one Kiwi agent to get among winter activities at Canada’s top ski resorts and towns in British Columbia and Alberta. Here’s what went down.

Sno’n’Ski Holidays’ top-selling travel advisors of Canada ski from across Australia (and the lone Kiwi) qualified for Sno’n’Ski’s annual Mega Famil, spending two nights each in Banff, Revelstoke, Sun Peaks and Whistler in the Canadian Rockies.

Beginning in Banff

Advisors hit up Banff Sunshine Village and were amazed at the vast terrain suited for both beginners and black diamond skiers.

Flight Centre consultant Alana Dixon said: “Banff is the perfect place for families, being centred in the beautiful town while surrounded by stunning scenery and the ‘Big 3’ mountains. The newly renovated Canoe Hotel & Suites was a great location – just a short wander from the town centre.”

The next morning, agents were up early and on the gondola to be on the mountain for the special ‘first tracks’ at Lake Louise Ski Resort.

Flight Centre consultant Sam Hele said: “Getting a few runs in before the general public is definitely an experience I will remember. The views to Lake Louise are unforgettable and the whole resort has something to offer from the bunny hill to the backcountry.”

Revelling in Revelstoke

Next up was Revelstoke Mountain Resort where advisors checked in to ski-in, ski-out Sutton Place Hotel before getting lucky again with the first tracks the following morning.

Flight Centre Marketing’s Ben Lawnton said: “Revelstoke is such a fun mountain with the reputation as a skier’s mountain due to its steepness but as snowboarders, we also found amazing runs. The après-ski at the bottom of the slopes is also a great time.”

Peak powder at Sun Peaks

The group then enjoyed the scenic drive to Sun Peaks Ski Resort in BC with its charming European-style village and the second-largest ski area in Canada, receiving lessons and guided mountain tours.

Snowscene’s Emma Ellis said: “Sun Peaks is always a crowd favourite! It offers terrain for all abilities and the cute little village is perfect for families. It really does tick all the boxes.”

Whistlestop trip ends in Whistler

The final resort stop, Whistler Blackcomb, did not disappoint. Here, agents sampled what’s on offer at North America’s largest ski resort, including skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, zip-lining and spa treatments.
