Solomon Airlines taps Airline Marketing Australia to liaise with travel trade

Solomon Airlines has appointed Airline Marketing Australia (AMA) to oversee all the carrier’s relationships with travel partners and agencies Down Under as the Solomon Islands gears up to host the 2023 Pacific Games.

Effective immediately, AMA will represent Solomon Airlines in Australia and New Zealand, where it has been the carrier’s long-term representative.

Solomon Airlines CEO Gus Kraus said: “The Airline Marketing team has been a very good partner for us over a long period of time In New Zealand and we are pleased to expand that relationship to Australia.”

“As we continue to rebuild our airline operations and the development of tourism to Solomon Islands, we know we are in good hands, especially in this very important year.”

Gearing up for the Pacific Games

Solomon Islands will welcome more than 5,000 international visitors from 24 countries for the 2023 Pacific Games from 19 November to 2 December.

The carrier is a Presenting Sponsor for SOL2023, providing SBD$5 million value of air travel, air freight and promotional content via its owned media channels for the 17th Pacific Games.

“SOL2023 will elevate consumer and industry awareness of the Solomon Islands as a tourism and travel destination,” Mr Kraus said.

“The appointment of AMA will ensure we are equipped to handle interest and support the travel trade in our two largest offshore markets.”

AMA General Manager Lazar Lazar agreed: “We are truly excited to expand our representation for Solomon Airlines when both the airline and the Solomon Islands are commencing a period of great opportunity.”

“We will educate and support the trade to ensure new travel and business opportunities and a trajectory of growth for Solomon Airlines and tourism to the Solomon Islands.”
