Sonia Jones Travel has welcomed its first Travel Gapper, Mya Neasey, from the inaugural internship program intake, as well as opening a new office in Brisbane’s inner-west suburb of Paddington as the boutique agency expands.

NTIA winner, Virtuoso advisor and Director Sonia Jones onboarded the agency’s first Travel Gapper as part of the Travel Gap initiative with My First Job and the Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA).

The Travel Gap program is designed to bridge the gap between young people and the travel industry, providing meaningful, real-world exposure to career pathways and helping to inspire the next generation of travel professionals.

Neasey will embark on five weeks of hands-on experience with the Sonia Jones Travel team, gaining valuable insights into the day-to-day operations at the boutique agency.

With a strong interest in travel, marketing, and social media, she is particularly focused on understanding how the business connects clients with destinations and brings its brand to life.

“Our Bardon home has given us two years full of beautiful client journeys and the occasional soundtrack from our feathered neighbours,” said Jones, who is also part of the inaugural ITAA group for independent agents.

“Moving to Paddington allows us to evolve into a space that better supports our team, our clients, and the way we work today.”
