A handful of Travel Advisors have returned from marvelling at the sheer beauty for which the alpine country of Switzerland is famous for during a recent fam-trip.

Ten Advisors rugged up for a week-long winter famil to Switzerland as part of the 2018 Swiss Travel Pass SuperStar Program.

Starting in Zurich, major highlights included dining at the world’s first vegetarian restaurant, Haus Hiltl, experiencing a decadent fondue dinner and Christmas light show at the Illuminarium Fondue Palace and visiting the famous Christmas House in Basel by Johann Wanner.

They also got the chance to take in some fine art at the Kuntsmuseum Basel, immerse themselves in Switzerland’s largest Christmas market in Basel, ascend Mount Pilatus and explore the historic city of Lucerne.

Next, they embarked on the panoramic Luzern – Interlaken Express (part of the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland), visited Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe and jumped on the panoramic GoldenPass Line to Montreux before exploring the city’s stunning Christmas markets.

They also got to discover Hinterdorf, the oldest part of Zermatt village, riding up to Gornergrat and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and check out the brand new Glacier Express Excellence Class before journeying to Brig on the Glacier Express.

The group also enjoyed an international gala night in Zermatt with other agents from around the world.

A joint initiative between the Swiss Travel System, Switzerland Tourism and Rail Europe, the Swiss Travel Pass SuperStar Program equips agents with useful information about travelling around Switzerland, the benefits of Swiss Travel Pass as well as the many journeys around the country.

Updates on new and improved products are also provided in the program.

Participating agents were Callum Henson, Flight Centre Erina Tailor Made; Marion Fourmann, Flight Centre Bentleigh; Wendy James, Kaleidascopic Travel; Aimee Van Dongen, Bicton Travel; Rhiannon Wollington, Travel Associates; Deborah Schofield, Main Beach Travel; Linda Gorter, House of Travel Ponsonby NZ; Craig Martin, Martin & Grigg Travel Associates NZ; Meredith Mock, Flight Centre; and Rebecca Carey, helloworld Ballarat.
