Japan Airlines recently hosted Travel Partners from Victoria on a famil to Tokyo. The four-day tour was packed with MW Tours sightseeing and land arrangements with the Prince Hotel Group.
The trip included three nights in Tokyo visiting the Tokyo Skytree Tower, the famous Robot show, Imperial Palace East Garden and Meiji Shrine.
This was followed by a night in Hakone, to visit Mt Fuji and a boat ride on Lake Asdhi before a bullet train back to Tokyo and several hotel inspections.
A highlight for the group was a visit to Japan Airlines (JAL) control centre and maintenance hangers. They were given front row seats and an amazing powerpoint display of how emergencies, delays, and weather are all looked at in this centre – a true glimpse into the other side of travel they don’t often get to see.
Yukari Yoko of JAL said it was a privilege to show the group how the operations at JALs control centre worked.
The Travel Partners also took a look at the JAL museum where they could dress up as cabin crew.
Their final night in Tokyo was the most “mind-blowing of all”.
They visited the famous Robot Restaurant and show before hiring a private Karaoke room where they belted out sounds of Abba, Cindy Lauper and Bon Jovi.
Bdp from Travel Partners Chriss Perry said the group had an amazing time and Japan Airlines Premium Economy class was the best she had ever experienced in 30 years of travel.
“The beautiful, near new dreamliner, was quiet and comfortable, the service was in my opinion, second to none.”

She said Tokyo’s public transport was also an eye-opener.
It showed just how well it can be done. It was a cultural pleasure to see and experience the quiet and polite was of culture in this country,” she said.
