A group of Travel Advisors were recently given the opportunity to find out firsthand why a trip to Sri Lanka will outshine any other destination.
On The Go Tours (OTG) hosted the group of consultants on its Wild About Sri Lanka tours, a 10-day excursion of caves, temples and more.
The 10-day itinerary started in Colombo with the group visiting Dambulla Rock Temple – a stunning complex of five caves which contains over 150 images of Buddha.
Later, consultants took a scenic train trip through verdant tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya where a significant share of the world’s best tea is produced.
Other highlights of the itinerary included three game drives across Udawalawe, Yala and Bandula National Parks where a high concentration of Asian elephants’ roam and depending on your luck, chances to see sloth bears, golden palm civets, Sri Lankan Krait, crocodiles and leopards.
According to On The Go Tours’ recent figures, Sri Lanka sales have increased by 40 percent over the last year. The month of September last year was among the best, with a spike of 88 percent new bookings.
