We were all hoping so bad it’d be our ticket number called out at the NTIAs over the weekend, but the moment we realised it wasn’t, well, honestly, we tuned out and prayed for better luck the next round.

For those who missed the awards night on Saturday evening, Star Alliance gave Travel Agents the chance to win seven air tickets to Asia, Canada, America, Europe, Japan and South Africa.

As the travel industry’s most prestigious awards evening began, guests peeled open their Star Alliance-branded napkin holder to reveal a unique number.

During the evening Star Alliance member airlines then drew six lucky winners, and there were…

Anna McMurtrie from Wentworth Travel is heading to Toronto with Air Canada

Michael Middleton from Bicton Travel is visiting Tokyo and Nagoya, Osaka or Fukuhara with All Nippon Airways

Kenneth Ung from Nexus Holidays is travelling to Asia on EVA Air

Lucky Kate Hansen from Bicton Travel is flying over to South Africa courtesy of South African Airways

Debbie Ashes from Helloworld Travel Lane Cove won tickets for two to Europe via Bangkok with Thai Airways & Turkish Airlines

AND Lauren Ashes from Helloworld Travel Lane Cove is going over to the Big Apple with United Airlines

Addressing the NTIA audience – gathered this year in Sydney’s International Convention Centre – Star Alliance Country Steering Committee Chair Tim Clyde-Smith took the opportunity to thank the entire Australian travel industry for helping the Alliance celebrate 20 years of “connecting people and cultures”.

“And thank you to our member airlines for once again working together to deliver something magical because that is, of course, what Star Alliance is all about.”

Tim Clyde-Smith, Star Alliance Country Steering Committee Chair

For the third consecutive year, Star Alliance also sponsored the Best Non-Branded Travel Agency Group category at NTIA, with the category won by Magellan Travel Group.

Join us in congratulating the Star Alliance NTIA winners.
