What a year this week has been! No doubt you’ve been inundated with rebookings, rescue missions and more. Matt Castell, a Travel Partner from Curated Travel, recently shared two wonderful stories with us and we wanted to bring them to you, to reiterate “this is why we do it.”
A Mexican wave of love, hope and positivity have been sweeping back and forth to agents all over the country through social platforms.
It’s so good to share your stories, struggles, and triumphs because remember, physical distancing doesn’t mean social isolation.
We are all in this together. #togetherintravel
In what is another fantastic display of travel agents making a huge difference, these two customer service stories have shown the real value of staying human in troubled times.
To Matt and all agents, everywhere… you totally deserve that big glass of vino waiting for you at six o’clock!
Matt shared this heartwarming story on Facebook and was happy to let us share it with you guys, just in case you might need reminding why you do the work you do.
Answer? Because it brings people together.
“Well, another happy morning for me. After getting flights for over a dozen new clients yesterday to their home countries, I received a phone call from one girl’s Dad in Canada.”
“He was in tears. Confused why 4x flights for his daughter had been cancelled in a week and worried it was too late to get her home.”
“She’d checked in and found the dreaded “GTE” instead of a seat number on her boarding pass. Dad had looked this up and found that it means the flight is overbooked and she wasn’t guaranteed a seat.”
“Enter, absolute industry legend and Air Canada executive, Neil Ford. Who comes to the rescue, contacting airport staff to make sure Phil’s daughter gets home today.”
“I now have a new friend in Canada. Thanks, Neil, and Air Canada!”
THIS IS WHY WE DO IT!
A very productive morning
Another wonderful display of compassion, caring, and careful logistics!
“Exciting and meaningful to help these stressed and panicked individuals get home. Already receiving emails from worried Mum’s thanking me for bringing their kids back to them.”
THIS IS WHY WE DO IT!
Great job Matt, I hope everyone is now home safe and sound.
What a fantastic example of #TOGETHERINTRAVEL!
