Trans-Tasman ties: ETC welcomes aboard new partner Great Journeys New Zealand

Evolution Travel Collective (ETC) has added Great Journeys New Zealand (GJNZ) to its portfolio as the Kiwi rail operator looks to grow support in the Australian trade market and connect with advisors to boost sales and awareness.

Evolution Travel Collective (ETC) has added Great Journeys New Zealand (GJNZ) to its portfolio as the Kiwi rail operator looks to grow support in the Australian trade market and connect with advisors to boost sales and awareness.

Part of the KiwiRail group, which operates Northern Explorer, Coastal Pacific and TranzAlpine scenic rail journeys, GJNZ has big ambitions and partnering with B2B travel brand representation company ETC is the next step to bolster its presence in the Australian market.

GJNZ General Manager Tracey Goodall said the company is particularly focused on growing its B2B opportunity with Australian travel advisors.

“We are excited about partnering with Evolution Travel Collective whose expert team provides an extension to our existing sales team and the opportunity to speak with more agents at the point-of-sale level about the fantastic options a New Zealand rail trip can offer their customers,” she said.

“With ETC, we can ensure Australian agents have access to support on the ground and we will continue to work with all our wholesale partners in the region with ETC assisting our NZ team to manage this together.”

ETC Managing Director Ingrid Berthelsen said: “I am looking forward to the opportunity to partner with a rail travel specialist such as Great Journeys New Zealand.”

“In past roles, I have been lucky to both sell and travel on their wonderful product so to have the chance to now work closely with them on their sales strategy and further grow their brand in the Australian B2B space is very exciting.

“We are looking forward to providing this evolution in trade support to GJNZ for the Australian wholesale and agent networks.”

The Northern Explorer and Coastal Pacific scenic services will recommence in late September 2022, while the TranzAlpine (Christchurch – Greymouth) restarted in January and will also offer package and tour options from early October.
